Digging the Footer
The work on digging the footer continues and it looks like it should be done by Saturday. The steel that will go into the is also being fabricated.

This is a shot from behind the 6 inch blocks to the west. You can see the batter boards up around the project. The actual dimensions of the house look smaller when you look at just the footer. It seems as though the batter boards create an optical illusion.

This view shows the footer and the prepared steel a little more clearly. This is again looking to the west and closer to where the dirt was cut away to level the site. Where the shovel is standing in the picture is where the fireplace and chimney will be. The edge closer to the front is the footer for the patio and the dark footer hole you see towards the right will be the wall that separates the great room form the rest of the house.

This shot shows the same footer separating the great room from the rest of the house. The fellow in the middle of the picture is digging the footer for the wall that separates the guest bedroom from the master bathroom.

This is a view of the work from south looking northeast. You can see the concrete blocks in the background on the ground that will eventually require a retaining wall.

This view is taken from atop a hill of top soil that was removed from the excavation. It is looking towards the northeast. In the foreground is where the car port and driveway will be.
