The steel cariolas start to go on
The steel cariolas or beams started going on the patio yesterday. These will support the metal roof panels. The type that I have are called toledo because they are stamped with a design to simulate terra cotta tile. As the panels go on this will become more apparent.

In this photo you see Cecilio welding one of the beams in place while FiFi looks on.

The men are putting concrete into the forms for the tie beams. They were finished on Friday, March 4, 2005.

This worker is tamping the concrete to make sure there are no air pockets left in the tie beam.

Oops! There's another one of those hibiscus flowers. They call them Popos here.

The building inspector makes the rounds.

It's quitting time and work will resume on Monday.
