Festival in Boquete

This year the weather was a little more cooperative and although there was some rain, it was nothing like lat year.  The fairgrounds in Boquete were decorated with  lots of beautiful flowers.  So if you can't go, take a moment and enjoy the view.

This is one of several beds of flowers arraigned in a pattern.

This is a bed of Impatiens which grow wild in shaded and cooler areas of Panama.  Anybody want to hazard a guess how much it would take to replicate this in the States?

Violet stand s next to a bed of Nile Lilies.

Another arrangement of flowers in the fair grounds.

Bromeliads, orchids, and succulents  on display.

Up close and personal with an orchid.

Not all beauty was in the flowers.  This young lady was one of the vendors who was selling art.

This Sun flower had some very intense colors.

This one did too.  Neither of the two sunflowers were part of any display at the fair.  Imagine that.

Another sculpted bed of flowers.

The Rio Caldera is lined with new embankments after the torrential rains almost completely canceled the fair in 2005.  The fair grounds are to the right.

These Bougainvilleas were completely away from the fair grounds and were just part of someone's hedge.
